eighth-final: Stade Français Paris (Fra)-Partizani Tiranë
In the first leg of Tiranë, Stade Français Paris didn’t present themselves, so Yugoslav referee in Stadium “Studenti” (in Elbasan avenue of Tiranë) he proclaimed Partizani winners for French forfeit. Stade Français – thanks to great Soviet influence in FIVB against Albanians - it asked to play in Bucharest, as a neutral ground, notwithstanding Albania and France had very good diplomatic relations. Partizani refused, and CEV disqualified Albanians. What a shame! Instead the sportsmanlike Austrians of SC ÖMV Blau-Gelb Vienna play in Tiranë without preposterous pretexts!

19.12.81 Dinamo Tiranë-SV Lohhof 3-0 (15-5, 15-12, 15-3; point-difference: 74-65 for Dinamo) (*)
(*): CEV didn’t send a second international referee in the Tiranë match, but permitted a second Albanian one (as always in Albanian home matches). CEV accepted Lohhof complaint after 10 days and not only 48 hours (art. 10 of CEV regulations), and it asked Albanian Volleyball Federation that Dinamo played a third match in a neutral Country. AVF refused to do it, and Dinamo Tiranë unfairly eliminated. Lohhof wasn’t Federal German Champion 1980-81, and it had no right to play in Champion Clubs’ Cup 1981-82, according to art. 1.3 of CEV regulations. USC Münster was German Champion, see: «Suddeutsche Zeitung», April 6th, 1981; SV Lohhof won CEV Cup in 1980-81. Read here in Italian language.
